2012 Chevrolet Equinox; Changing, Upgrading, Deleting Features!

By George • August 10th, 2011

General Motors has been on a upward trend this year.  Some of it is due to their ingenuity thinking and jumping on the demand of models that of  consumers.  The Equinox is a vehicle that Chevrolet has not had too many problems selling.  The vehicle speaks for itself.   General Motors has reported sales are up 8% for July.  This is part too, of the sales of the Chevrolet Equinox.  But there are changes on the horizon for the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and some of them are not necessarily for the better.  Some features will be deleted that consumers might still want, then there will be additions to models as standard options to make consumers happy.  To see which features appeal to you the best, visit Sarasota Chevrolet Dealers.

Some of the features that will be deleted were not in a huge demand, even though some of them are convenient.  The new additional features include an optional 18″ chrome clad wheels to make the ride even more smooth.  The Equinox will loose two of the colors options which are the Cyber Grey Metallic and the Cardinal Red Metallic.  Chevrolet will add the Chevy Mylink infotainment center to the Equinoxes.  With this they are adding the Bluetooth technology to all trim levels including the 1LS trim.  The other standard equipment will be the rear vision camera, it is standard on the 1LT trim.  The other additions will be the lane departure warning system and the forward collision alert that consumers have grown to admire.  Take a 2012 Chevy Equinox for a test drive when they hit the lots of the Florida Chevy Dealer.

One option that is somewhat a bummer, is there will no longer be the option for the trailer package.  Another of the deletion options is the rear infotainment system.  The Mylink infotainment system has taken over and this system does not yet incorporate a rear seat system for passengers in the back.

The other upgrade that is not slotted for the 2012 Equinox, is a powertrain upgrade.  Chevrolet should reconsider this one with the competition out there in the same category.  The 2012 Ford Edge will be offering the 2.0 Liter EcoBoost (turbocharged) engine that is in comparison for torque and horsepower as the 3.0 L LF1V-6 of the Equinox.  Ford has this option and it can deliver 30 MPG on the highway, making an impression on consumers.
